Extension Activities

Sports

The College play ground is coming up very soon. Presently the students are trained at  Mini Stadium situated near the college regularly and every student is expected to play at least one game. Every student is expected to have the usual equipment for the games he/she opts for.

After the completion of the admission process, College teams are announced on the basis of the trials during selection process. The players in their own interest are advised to be punctual and regular in their class work.
Inter-group tournaments in all the games are conducted periodically. Mementoes and prizes are given to the winning groups.

Extraordinary players are considered for awards which cannot be claimed as a matter of right but are decided by the competent authority on the basis of over all performance of the players in and outside the field.
Special arrangements have been made for indoor games in which the member of the staff as well as students can participate.
Prof. G.S. Rakwal remain overall incharge of all the games and who keeps liaison with the University Director sports for participation in various events organized by the University of Jammu.  

Members of various teams must report punctually for practice and for matches. Absentees will be fined. There will be a special fine for absence from the matches. Any player who indulges in any kind of  indiscipline in the College shall not be eligible for any prize, certificate or college colours. All games will be played after 1.00 Pm. The College provides facility in the following games/sports:

Achievements of the Sports Department:

Games and Sports are as much important for the students as their education. They provide an healthy outlet to their surplus energy. The Department of Sports of the college is well aware of their importance and encourages the students to take part in Inter-college and other events. The students of the college brought laurel to their institution by excelling in various sports events last year. The main achievements of the college during the last year are as :

Scholarships and Financial Assistance

Schedule Caste(SC) scholarships.

Schedule Tribe(ST) scholarships

Backward class scholarships.

Bad pocket scholarship for ALC (Actual Line of Control) and RBA (Resident of Backward Area) category students.

College is also providing financial assistance to the poor and needy students who are eligible for the same.

Scholarship for physically disabled students.

Scholarships shall be drawn only for the following period:-

Academic Session.

2

Sanctioned holidays and Sundays.

3

Permissible Leave.

  Applications for scholarships are scrutinized by a Committee of teachers who recommend deserving candidates to the Principal.

Students applying for scholarships are required to submit the following:

1 Father's/Guardian's name and occupation.
2 Attested copies of State Subject Certificate.
3 Testimonials, if any
 

Detained or failed students are not eligible for any of these scholarships except m very exceptional circumstance.

 

Students from distant places are advised, to bring the above mentioned certificate at the time of admissions. Parents/ Guardian of the student applying for any scholarship must give an undertaking that in case their ward participates in strike or any other subversive activity, he/she will refund the amount of the scholarships received, in one installment.
