It gives me immense pleasure to I welcome the faculty and the I students on the eve of another academic session of Govt. General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi, which is one of the fast developing institutes of higher learning. The college has a unique legacy of being named after a distinguished and a dynamic personality General Zorawar Singh, Who was a great General of Jammu and Kashmir state. I am sure that the current session will be a positive addition to the list of past eventful years. Needless to say this distinction has been achieved by the hard work put in by my predecessors, the students and the staff both teaching and non¬teaching. I shall endeavour to contribute in academics, extension activities and overall development of college in general and the welfare of the students in particular.
With new projects and programmes in minds, in the coming session, efforts will be put in to facilitate academia and academic related activities with the high values of camaraderie, team work and personal involvement of everyone. On the personal level, it will be my constant endeavour to chisel out the multifaceted personality of the students, thereby ensuring a holistic development of the students to face the competitive world. Efforts will be made to seek financial support from the department of Higher Education and the University Grants Commission which will help us to initiate various ambitious projects for the college. The constant feedback to be received from the various stake holders of the college will act as a beacon for all of us.
Class rooms for the science stream, college Bus, college Canteen, Girls Common Room are some of the recent additions made to the existing infrastructure of the college. It is a matter of pride for the staff and students of the college that during the current academic session the college library is going to be shifted in the newly constructed library block. College play ground is also going to be made available to students for various sports activities during the current session. Sanctioning of additional posts by the department of Higher Education to the college will go a long way in further expansion of academic programmes and academic related activities in the years to come.
The ability for hard work and preservance paves the road to success which inturn needs talent and enterprise to thrive. I am proud to say that my students possess all these credentials and the staff helps greatly in further tapping and honing the talent of the students. May the new session be a harbringer of a perennial source of happiness and success in our lives. Once again I welcome you to this institute of higher learning with an advice to seek maximum benefit out of available resources.
I wish my students all the best.
